1.2 Patient-Centered Care
The College of DuPage Associate Degree Nursing Program identifies Patient-Centered Care as the application of nursing judgment to ensure the delivery of patient-centered care and promotion of health for patients within a family and community context.[1] It can also be referred to as Person-Centered care in many health settings. Throughout the nursing approach and the physical assessment the use of these two terms, Patient-Centered and Person-Centered will be applied to the Holistic Nursing Care approach described in the next section.
