Welcome to Modeling Data with R.

As with the other books in this series(R and R Studio for Absolute Beginners, Data Wrangling with R, and Visualizing Data with R), this book is designed for absolute beginners, with no preexisting experience with R and coding. It is designed as a basic introduction to the process of data science modeling.

For those of you in Sociology 1205, this book follows the Doing Data Science modules in the course, in the same order. (chapter 1 corresponds to Unit 1, etc.). Similarly, you will find all the necessary code scripts in the course’s R Studio Cloud workspace.

Even though this book is introductory, I still highly recommend going through R and R Studio for Absolute Beginners, if you haven’t yet done so, in order to get the R basics you will need to follow along with the present book.
