About the Author
Eric R. Ramirez-Thompson PhD was a Lincoln Fellow at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where he earned a doctorate in Criminology, Law and Justice. His most recent research involves the identification of variables that help explain the direct and/or indirect effects of technology on crime and deviance and how, over the past decade, computerization has changed the nature of the criminal justice profession. For the past seventeen years, Dr. Ramirez-Thompson has been a criminal justice professor at College of DuPage, the second largest undergraduate education providers in Illinois, where he incorporates his interest of wellness into his teaching and encourages aspiring criminal justice professionals to embrace the importance of physical and emotional health.
