Dr. Ramirez-Thompson is a distinguished educator and researcher in Criminology, Law, and Justice. He earned his doctorate from the University of Illinois at Chicago as a Lincoln Fellow, focusing on the impact of technology on crime and criminal justice. With a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from California State University, Long Beach, he contributed to the Orange County Adult Drug Court, pioneering exercise-based treatment approaches. For two decades, he has served as Professor and Chair of Criminal and Justice Studies at the College of DuPage, inspiring future professionals to integrate wellness into their careers. His research includes peer-reviewed publications on intellectual property theft, drug court interventions, and first responder wellness. A former competitive athlete, he embodies his philosophy of “demonstrative practice,” promoting physical and emotional well-being. A sought-after author and speaker, Dr. Ramirez-Thompson continues to shape the future of criminal justice through scholarship and mentorship.
