Introduction

Nepantla is a Nahuatl term that means to be in between two spaces, identities or cultures. They say when you learn a new language, you acquire a new soul. The goal of Nepantla is to introduce you to the Spanish language while immersing you in Latinx culture, allowing you to feel a connection between both worlds.

Nepantla is a task-based, communicative and intercultural Elementary Spanish I and II textbook.  Each chapter features a communicative task designed to help you speak Spanish, connect with global communities, and meet everyday responsibilities in the target language.

In Nepantla you will explore Latinx culture through Intercultural Reflections woven into each chapter. You will also discover authentic writing, reading, listening, and speaking activities that connect Spanish language learners with the vibrant Latinx community from around the world.
